Latest Hair Must-Haves

Hair Product Collage

Today, I felt like I just had to share these two products with all of you because I cannot get enough of them lately!

I. Kevin Murphy Doo.Over This is by far the greatest dry shampoo in the world, (and I’ve tried a million of them) for two major reasons. First, this is not only a dry shampoo but a finishing hairspray. Which means this stuff is so perfect for second or third day curled hair, because not only does it get rid of any excess oil but it also gives your hair fantastic volume and hold! Secondly, a major complaint that I usually have about dry shampoo is the smell, usually they smell weird or just way too strong. The scent of Doo.Over is perfect, light and floral, nowhere near overpowering. The link I’ve posted doesn’t allow you to buy it, but you can locate a salon near you that sells Kevin Murphy products and purchase it that way! I seriously cannot recommend this stuff enough!!

II. amika Touchable Hairspray I have a little bit of the story around this hairspray. So anyone who knows me knows I am obsessed with MoroccanOil hair products, I use their shampoo, the oil, texturizing spray, hairspray….you get the picture. However, with still being in graduate school budget does become a factor, especially when you’re spending over $20 on a can of hairspray every few weeks. So a few weeks ago, I went into Beauty Brands here in town where they were having their annual hairspray sale. I looked around and picked up this amika bottle, thinking that for $8.99 why not give it a shot? So I ended up using this new hairspray during my trip to Florida, and I fell in LOVE. It smells amazing, it’s brushable (so you don’t get that crunchy hairspray feel), and it even protects against the crazy Florida humidity. Safe to say, I’ll be stocking up before the sale ends because this ended up being such a great buy!

Comment below and share some of your favorite hair products!

Double Denim

I don’t know about any of you, but this crazy spring weather has made getting dressed everyday quite the challenge. For this past Easter weekend, I packed several fun spring dresses (I’ll be sharing these on the blog over the next month or so!), and ended up not being able to wear any of them because it SNOWED. Despite the surprise snow, Easter weekend was a great time spent with family & friends. Today I’m sharing a double denim look with my favorite peep toe mules. I love this look because it’s chic and cute, but also super comfortable. And in this weather, it’s warm enough that it prevents me from having to dig out any of my winter jackets I already put away for the season. I also need to take a minute to rave about these jeans. I bought these Paige denim jeans from Nordstrom this past fall, and I can’t say enough good things about them. They are soft, stretchy, flattering and honestly feel like you’re wearing leggings.

I don’t know about any of you, but I tend to build my outfits based on what shoes I want to wear that day. Today, however was the exception to that, as I knew I wanted to feature this chambray shirtdress. In looking at my closet to find shoes to pair with it, I actually felt overwhelmed with choices (which is somewhat of a rare occurrence for me). Shoutout to chambray for being so awesome and versatile! This dress is super lightweight and soft, making it a perfect piece for spring. The flats I’m wearing (link below) are a much cheaper version than some of the designer ones out there. I also prefer the look of d’Orsay flats, so I love that these are both lace up and d’Orsay! I’d love to hear some of your favorite chambray pairings, comment below & share!

Happy Monday everyone! Since this past weekend was full of to-do’s before returning to the final weeks of my semester, I decided to share one of my favorite casual outfits. We had a TON of errands to run after being on vacation for this past week (check out those posts in case you missed ’em!). There are a million things I love about this look, but first being that it’s made up of some of the most loved items in my closet. This outfit is full of must have basics, which is why between this classic white tee, denim jacket or my pixie pants I could never decide which piece is my favorite. And even though it’s officially spring, I had to break out my favorite wool hat for what is probably the last time, to complete this look. I’ve tagged some of these items below (or similar items) if you’d like to check them out, some are even on sale!

Vacation & Neon Maxi’s

DSC_0581editOur time here on the Emerald Coast has been so wonderful, we’ve had pretty much perfect weather and plenty of time for the beach, which makes for a win in my book. Today, I’m sharing this neon maxi dress on the blog. I purchased this dress last year from a local store and have gotten so much use out of it during the spring and summer. The color is bright and flattering (and makes my tan really stand out!). I love maxi dresses for vacations during this time of year, because they tend to keep you a little warmer when the nights get cooler. I also love the back on this dress, it gives a little more detail than it’s simple front. What do you love about maxi dresses? Comment below to share! DSC_0645
